Addressing the Challenge of Climate Mis/Disinformation

The spread of climate mis/disinformation poses significant challenges to public understanding, effective policy-making, and meaningful climate action. By distorting facts, fueling doubt, and deepening polarization, false narratives obstruct the consensus needed to address the climate crisis.

On September 19-20, 2025, the Centre for Information Integrity (CII) at the University of Ottawa will host the Summit on Climate Mis/Disinformation. This two-day event, held in part at the state-of-the-art INNOVA Space, will bring together experts, practitioners, and stakeholders from diverse disciplines—spanning climate science, policy, media, technology, and communications—to confront these challenges head-on. Participants will explore the drivers and impacts of climate mis/disinformation and collaborate on actionable solutions, including tools, strategies, and initiatives that foster resilience and promote informed climate dialogue.

By joining the summit, you will :

  • Gain insights into the complex landscape of climate mis/disinformation : Understand its drivers, impacts, and potential solutions through expert-led panels and discussions.
